Eat Me: Snack Box

Early Halloween costume: Brokeback inspired F&H cowboy cut longsleeves

It's just this season that I ate KFC foods again, because I hate their sanitation system, their floors were always sticky and stinky.

A new product was introduced, it's not really new Product, as they already have the poppers/fries+fun/hot shots meal, they just repacked it into a carry box, called the snack box which is for Php 59.00, without drinks.

But Ayala MRT KFC served me this:

Sorry about the photo, I'm really was hungry and can't wait until I was at the office.

Where's the box I paid for Php 59.00, though I agreed to be served with such box. KFC management should supply branches with ample supply of the box, bacause that's the whole sense of buying the snack box.

Original packaging supposed to be.

Androgynous Survivor

I survived the rain (specifically thunderstorm) on a Tuesday evening going home, thanks to my ever trusty androgynous look. A bus stopped for me, amidst the rain plus the traffic and other stranded people. On the way to Balintawak a guy offered me his seat (thinking that I was a girl, he chose me over the girl beside me) and without any complain I gave up the standing position.

World of Bitches

We all know (at least students from advertising and some people aware of the industry) that advertising is not for the faint hearted. We wake up on our sleeps haunted by criticism, eat sumptuous copies, pass stinky illustrations, and most specially breathe fresh ideas.

Personally, I hate mediocrity. I hate Diether's acting mediocrity, but loves his gentleman-hood, an epitome. We hate Isadora's cabinet size body, but loves her fantabulous lines, best actress. We always think that white is beautiful, see how Claudine wanted to be called beautiful. She looked (it's not even possible to look at her) abnormally white.

Nothing's perfect, as my professor always say to us,

"You're only as good as your last design."

Design innovation is a continuous process. And a good line from a Nokia presentation says that,"Our interest is in the future because we are going to spend the rest of our lives there."

Dental Operation

At 1 p.m. is my appoinment with Dra. Luzviminda Go- Sy, luckily I came in early because she has so much to do, and just adjusted her time to accomodate my check up. My check up got into removing of tooth abnormalities and prescriptions of having a jacket after the observation period, if the teeth won't heal (two molars).

After the check up, I decided to go to 168 but unfortunately I can't seem to remember where to pass, and landed at the front doors of Kats. Then everything happened fast, we went to Podium and then met with Janel and Mafe, watched a Indonesian movie, Chanting (boring), while eating Krispy Kreme to reduce tension brought by the very disturbing sound coming from the movie.

Planned a little for Friday meet up--- Bubba Gump! I hope the teeth are okay on that day because I don't want to miss out on feasting with delicious food.

Torture Shopping

Who wouldn't like to work here, High street, come on! Nice ambience, great food choices, open spaces, and relaxing views. The only thing that's not nice here (leave it for blind item) is the temptation of shops, to really spend your entire money! Oh my goodness, can you imagine the torture for shopping addicts, if they're working here?

I am proving that I can go to the office very early. And here's the proof:

Still no one around except for Kuya Andy. If I were not to ride the service going to the office, I won't be coming in by 8:50+ a.m.. I will be earlier because I usually arrive at the station 1 hour before the 8:20 a.m. pick up, and sometimes earlier.

English Day

Well, I think it's inspired from Victorian- Edwardian- era, because of the big sleeves (not so big, but the feel is with soft feel), with cuff link holes, and pin tucked rib/ chest design.

It's from Bench, a brand here in the Philippines, sold worldwide, visit www.bechtm.com, for more info.

Spoiled Brat

Wearing white H&M Polo, gray Mondo pants, with rustic brown Wade leather bag.

I am a spoiled brat, yes, I know, or maybe just spoiled, because I try to act mature naman when situation needs it. I still allow myself to be babied by my parents.

Every morning, my mom still wakes me up, and to think that I am already 22 years old, age where you're supposed to be independent and all. She prepares my stuff, because I tend to forget things when I am in a hurry. She does it, and gets nothing, because it's still for me, I mean, the salary I get from working (which I gave to her, and will be giving her) still doesn't cover my expenses. Expenses are still covered by my parents, that's why I love them. Lol.

MRT Sucks

Everyday, people swarm like locusts at MRT Stations and we call it Filipino ties, lol. Everyone's close together, to the extent that they can smell each others armpit, good thing that at least every morning people here in third world likes to bathe.

Considering thousands and thousands of people riding the MRT everyday. Why won't this railroad system consider investing on new coaches, to avoid people jamming the doors and filling up the flat forms.

When Vanity Strikes

This was before college graduation, a night out with friends. A treat by Jordan for her post birthday celebration.

I was showing this to Camille, when I thought, "Damn, I look good!"

Reference

A conversation between me and HRAD, one Saturday evening regarding my mother's concern about my work.

Reply to HRAD

"Uhm, kc it's not me who has really the concern, it's my mom, kasi she's the one paying the bills. The concern is me working here sa haus, using our electricity and smartbro (load), for me, I told her it's okay lang for me to work at home, gusto nya that any work related stuff sa company na billed, yun ung pinagdiscuyn namin."

HRAD replied

"Let's discuss na lang on Monday. Para mas mapag-usapang mabuti."

"Kasi, if you will work at home it's your discretion. The company is not obliging you naman to work at home. If there is something that you have to finish you can always work in the office so that yung electricitty and internet charged sa company."

Simple as that, so from now on I will not be taking any work at home, or even think of it, neither overtime at all. Exactly 6:00pm I will definitely bust off.

NO PAY, NO WORK: that is for extra hours.

They're just paying me for my 9:00am to 6:00pm working hours, so I will just work on those hours, to avoid conflicts with HRAD and other bosses.

Spotted Bloomberg-ers

Good Day Bonifacio High Street-ers!

Spotted two Bloomberg-ers! Crossing High Street to lovely Serendra. Could it be that they are investing on NEW THINGS?
Better check the stocks now.
Note: We are just teasing Danes and Miguel, cause they look good together.

I saw Ito Kish at Fullybooked here, at the same time.

Miss- ing Moments

The curator of the outdoor art gallery, I think I know her from school. Simply posh look (green earth, lol).

Our Sales team (Apple, Sir Joseph, Jules, Janelle, and Ms. Carol) with OAAP Officers, Atty. Winthrop (Sir Troy) Banes (in blue longsleeves and black coat).

It's Nuffnang's first ad/client, and biggest outdoor art gallery in Asia's launch (by 2nd Media) in Fullybooked, where outdoor companies and organizations gathered to support their (2M's) advocacy to inform the mass about the environment's situation through art.

The event started with the buffet pica- pica?! dinner?! and as always, I was mistaken, again, for a girl. The waiter was telling me, "Ma'am may sauce po dyan." end of story.

The Sales' muses: Janelle, Ms. Carol, Juvy, Apple, and Jules. The faces of Outcomm. lol

Ms. Faith of Accounting Dept. in posh crispy light purple longsleeve with ribbon, and white pants and thin black belt.

Wednesday On the Go

This is a hectic day for Nuffnang and Outcomm, as tomorrow will be the Manila Outdoor Gallery Event in Fort Bonifacio, Fullybooked branch. Artworks from different artist, including fellow Thomasians will be featured like Ivan Roxas and Mark Salvatus (either forgot to pass or whatever, he was removed from the list). It's an auction of artworks promoting Green Environment, or taking care of the environment.

Wearing the H&M Organic Tee (with marks all over, idk why, where it came from), gray pants, moss green balloon hoodie challeco/ jacket.

A laid back outfit for a very hectic day, gives you comfort and feeling of lightness.

First Pay (cheque) Check?!

I can't really make it just a secret, ofcourse! This is my first (aside from the pay I got from Silverworks) ever pay from an employer, in a real job.

Just a review. Now, I can really say that FIRST IMPRESSIONS never, never last. You really can't blame me, lalo na, when you're the one experiencing it. Vices, can't say more, just that we need to prioritize and keep our rigid control to avoid yearning for something that is, first and foremost bad for our system, and bad for our work. It's a waste of time, well if not for the person who enjoys it, just mind all the people waiting for you.

I am not the perfect employee but I try to be.

Tell me your busy.

Inspired from the Sartorialist photo.

I am wearing a stripped orange, brown with moss green colors polo, light khaki colored pants, tiger- printed scarf and black gladiators.

Stress Reliever

Marunong ka ba mag- tagalog? Tshirt, given to me by my Shobe as her gift, worn with moss green Indian- inspired 3/4 shorts with gold pinstripes from Jiggie Jiggie (168 Shopping Mall) gold brown tiger- print Armando Caruso hanky, and brown gladiators.

Went to salon to have my hair trimmed, then decided to go shopping with mom, at 168 Shopping Mall.

I missed Divisoria, everything's so cheap, and chinese people all around, speaking and hearing chinese, never felt this good. Though I hear Lanang Ue's during the funeral, it's still not the same when you do it haggling. Lol.

Goodbye's The Hardest

We had a non- traditional Christian- Chinese funeral, mixing the Catholic and Chinese customs, (like eating out before going home, etc.) but never had the paper house and other material stuff to be burned. We gave her passport and credit cards, instead. Lol.
Our long convoy from Funeraria Paz to Eternal Gardens, luckily we were assisted by the 3 Quezon City Police escorts.

Today's my Ahma's burial. After the 5 day wake at La Funeraria Paz Quezon City, the final curtain call came, and it's time for us to really say our goodbyes. After this we literally won't see her again. But I know she will watch over us. She will always be in our hearts.

It's just overwhelming to see other people really care for someone that they are not related to, and just known for awhile, to burst in tears because of attachment. I salute Lyn (Dong's sister, we asked to help take care of Mama Aty) for being so committed in taking care of Mama Aty, and even cancelled her scheduled return to province because of what happened.

We (Flordeliza Chan- de Castro, Arnaldo Jr. de Castro, Chippy Chan, William Lao- Chan, Charles Chan, and Chris Chan) would like to give our deepest gratitude to the people who showed their respect and love to our beloved Mama Aty: Chan Family (Lolo Domie and Lola Precy Chan, Aunties from the 3rd family, Lola Earlie Chan- Kwa, Lola Evelyn Chan- Lo); Security Bank (Ms. Lucy); Quest Diagnostics: Mr. Francis Chua, Mr. Tommy Chuatak, Ms. Abie Garcia and her friend Ms. Lorna; Pacific Plans; St. Joseph's Sisters; Realengo Family (Lola Nila, Tito Oying, Tita Susan, Lola Cely, Tita Lotlot, Tita Tess, Lola Tita, Tito Omeng, Tito Roy and Tita Racquel, Tita Annie and Tito Vhoi); Torente Family; Cruz Family (Lola Fe, Tita Vivian and Ate Totle, Tita Angie and Tito Rey, Tita Azon and Tito Joby, Tito Bebot and Tita Miriam, Tita Minnie), Sherly Dy, Alex and Grand C Printing Press (Jose, Danny, Pepot, Shaie, Daisy, Eli, Lonzki, Karen and Ochie); Three Kings (Boss Teddy Ching, Elvie, Ludy, Rachel, Jackie and Ricky); Juliet and her sister (dad's long time officemate); Kuya Rodel and Liza (dad's godson) and to our FV7HOA: Ortega Family, Chitty Garcia, Sonia Robles and Gloria Samson. And a thumbs up for Quezon City Police for assisting the convoy.

Tears, we can't stop, we can't hide, we will miss her so much. Just writing this and realizing that tomorrow, she will not be around, still makes me teary eyed, although I wanted her to rest, but still at the back of my mind, I miss her.

Partners In Crime

Note: There will be no intimate details to be blurted out here, because our work lives in a very competitive situation, and a mere leak of info will, destroy the master plan.

I just want to commend my partner here, for being so patience in doing my artworks (animation stuff). He surely gave me a mark of supladoness, on my first day; but he was humble enough to explain the situation.

I think we'll be running a long way together, well I hope so.

You don't know what will happen the next day.

Mornings at MRT Station

The first station is my ride for the reason that I am from the North and North Ave. Station is the first station from our house going to EDSA.

The pushing and shoving doesn't have any difference at all when you're coming from the first station. First row people (Barbarians) enters the empty coach with much eagerness, results to a very anticipated MRT Wave system (Wave System: holding onto your bag while you wait for the people at the first row to pushing in, and while you're sandwiched in the middle, you let your body be dragged along, so you can enter the coach. Note: Without even walking.)

Today, I experienced, again "the wave" but this time I joined in with the pushing, lol. After doing so, I thought pushing is better rather than being pushed around.

In Loving Memory

Natividad Torente Realengo- Chan
April 18, 1938 - October 6, 2008
A doting mother, sister, and grandmother, up to her last breathe she was thinking of us. I am grateful to our Almighty God, for giving her to us, and now, it's time for her to rest and be with her creator.

Post Birthday Celebration

Have been busy lately, so whenever I have time to spend (money and free time); I ask my mom to go shopping. We went out for my post birthday celebration.

My mom (well, my parents, but I'm with mom) bought me a new phone, which I can use in the office as a portable sort-of- mini computer.

Note: To be continued next day, can't fight sleepiness.

Update:

We had fun that day, tried some jeans and shorts (I am a size larger or two?) for office, it's hard to find clothes that fits me well. The transition from being slim to fat and from being a student to a working boy, takes a lot of styling tricks.

I bought a new gladiator sandals, and treated theselves (mom and sis) with their own glads.

This one is mine.

This one is for my shobe

This T- shirt is from Jewel clothing, Marunong ka ba mag- tagalog? My sister's gift for me.

Merry pants, lol. It's Christmas already!

After this shopping spree we ate up a cone of ice cream from Haagen- Dazs, uber fattening, can cause you diabetic, sugar rocket high.

The Entry Talked to Me

Don’t flatter yourself. You can’t build a good personal brand if you can’t see yourself as others see you.

The best way to establish a brand when you are new to an organization is by offering something that is missing. Do something that is humble but essential.

-Quoted from Ms. GM's Blogspot.

Very appropriate for me. It's like talking to me.

From My First Day

Left side starting front: Me, Camille, Roanna, Mr. EBR

Right side starting from back: Ms. GM, Mr. Tim Tiah, Sam (his girlfriend)

With reference to my previous post on Livejournal dated: 28 September 2008 @ 18:57, regarding meeting Tim Tiah, here's a photo of my first day with my bosses Mr. EBR, and Ms. GM along with my officemates Roanna and Camille.

When I came in at BKA, Inc., 1997 or 8, enrolled as a Grade 3 student under the advisory of Ms. Repuya. I felt different, because I was from ESPS, a Parochial school, where people are finesse, or rather behaves well (quoting Roanna: Cultured people) (okay maybe a little less energetic unlike the BKAers). I adjusted but remained well- mannered, as I was disciplined and thought by my parents, etiquette. I grew even more differently from the people I knew from Grade three to Senior year, when I entered UST- Manila. While alot of them chose to stay and study in nearby colleges, I opted to grow somewhere else and braved the wild, to go beyond my comfort zone. Environment, and crowd was different from the previous. I can breathe new air now, and can say that I belong here (UST, took only USTET and no other ETs, for I know where I want to be). Miggled with people of the same interest level.

You can't blame me from loosing interest, being with my highschool friends. We can say that they remained grounded as I grew, mayabang. They watched melo-drama as I watch action- adventure.

I am not being ungrateful, and am not subjecting my highschool friends to mockery (that you know I always do) but I am just telling that even though we grew together as friends, I may want to or maybe different from them. I planned everything, I don't want to settle with cheesy stuff. I want change, development, action.

I can just see myself laughing at that said homecoming, and making fun of them as I stuff my heart with praises. And I don't like that idea, BKA thought me good things--- brought out the best in me, gave me opportunities to prove myself. Maybe I should come then, but what's really the aim of homecomings?

Homecoming, this is where people meet from the same batch, a get together, to learn of everybody's industry and ofcourse do business with them (assuming everyone's professional already). What's the use attending mine--- there are idk, nurses (unregistered ones, failed ones, undergraduates), engineers, computer geeks, etc. None of advertising.

I don't know, hate me but this is what I feel about it.

On my new Blogger.com at 22!

This is the first time I'm going to write an entry after one week (of not posting any in my other blogs: http://chancharlie.livejournal.com/ and http://chancharlie.wordpress.com/)- well my first time to write as a Nuffie in blogspot, and first as a 22 year old young professional.

Yesterday, is a very happy day for me, October 3, 2008: Friday. It was my very first presentation as a working boy. I came in the office at 8:51 a.m. and turned the desktop on, to do my finishing touches for my presentation (at 2 p.m. with Ms. GM, Mr.EBR, Mr. JS and Mr. WHRB), then Ms. Tek (alumnae UST CAFA 19mahoma) called me because a meeting (it was only 9 a.m.) was called by Mr. WHRB. Shocked but prepared, I am. Got my notebook, pen and USB with me (unfortunately no laptop, yet?!). Yay, I came in the conference room and sat beside Mr. EBR with all the sales people.---

To cut the story short and reserve the details for confidentiality: I made my bosses love me!
This is a very fulfilling job. Passing by Guadalupe everyday and seeing Nuffnang 68 campaign flash, and seeing the ad posted at http://www.nuffnang.com.ph/ makes my heart go falter, because of happiness. Plus, I think I might take back other things that I have said in my August 14, 2008 post in my Livejournal blog, thinking that well, I am wrong, they know how to affirm/ assert people if they did a good job.
I hope people will just be happy for me and won't think of me as a competition (I take my job seriously, this is not a child's game anymore, see me work!). Ofcourse I need all the help that I can get, lucky for me my officemates are helpful enough.
