Trust, should I put it on

I have issues regarding trust, not the condom but the noun that according to dictionary.com is a

"reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence."
I am having those doubts--- suspicions of betrayal, because someone nudged me to pull my guard up, but I guess I won't be guarding if, I, myself hadn't felt doubts. What to do I don't know, haven't had many friends, that stayed long as friends that I can consider family. Will I trust that we came from the same heritage,--- it is usually that way, you feel the connection, but sometimes it will be THEM who will betray you. I don't really know, I am always a trusting person, and that makes me STUPID.
